Check if a MIME Part is Text

See more MIME Examples

Demonstrates the Chilkat Mime.IsText method, which returns whether the Content-Type begins with text/. It takes no arguments and applies to the current part.

Note: The file path is relative to the application's current working directory. Absolute paths may also be used. Supply the path to your own file.

Background: IsText is the broad check for any textual part — text/plain, text/html, text/xml, and so on — which is what decides whether it is safe to decode the body to a string. For binary parts, decode to bytes instead. Use the narrower predicates when you need the exact text subtype.
