(SQL Server) Unlock Chilkat HTTP

Demonstrates how to unlock the Chilkat HTTP functionality. The UnlockComponent method should be called once at the beginning of the program. Once unlocked, all subsequent objects are created in the unlocked state. There is no need to call UnlockComponent for every instance of a Chilkat object.

The object that called UnlockComponent may be discarded (deleted, deallocated, etc.). It does not need to remain in existence for subsequent objects to be already unlocked when created.

Also, the LastErrorText method can be examined to verify that a purchased unlock code was indeed recognized.

Chilkat ActiveX Downloads

ActiveX for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows

CREATE PROCEDURE ChilkatSample
AS
BEGIN
    DECLARE @hr int
    DECLARE @sTmp0 nvarchar(4000)
    DECLARE @http int
    EXEC @hr = sp_OACreate 'Chilkat_9_5_0.Http', @http OUT
    IF @hr <> 0
    BEGIN
PRINT 'Failed to create ActiveX component'
        RETURN
    END

-- If a license is purchased, replace "Anything for 30-day trial" with the purchased unlock code.
    DECLARE @success int
EXEC sp_OAMethod @http, 'UnlockComponent', @success OUT, 'Anything for 30-day trial'
    IF @success <> 1
      BEGIN
        EXEC sp_OAGetProperty @http, 'LastErrorText', @sTmp0 OUT
        PRINT @sTmp0

        PRINT 'unlock failed.'
        EXEC @hr = sp_OADestroy @http
        RETURN
      END

-- If debugging, you can examine the LastErrorText even when a method is successful.
-- This allows one to see what transpired within the method call, especially
-- if the VerboseLogging property is turned on.
-- In this case, a programmer can examine the LastErrorText to see if success
-- was with a purchased (and recognized) unlock code, or if it was successful in trial mode.

    EXEC sp_OAGetProperty @http, 'LastErrorText', @sTmp0 OUT
    PRINT @sTmp0

    PRINT 'unlock successful.'

    EXEC @hr = sp_OADestroy @http

END
