' This example assumes the Chilkat API to have been previously unlocked.
' See Global Unlock Sample for sample code.

Dim http As Chilkat.Http
Set http = Chilkat.NewHttp
Dim bd As Chilkat.BinData
Set bd = Chilkat.NewBinData

' Download the contents of a PDF file into the bd object.

success = http.QuickGetBd("https://www.chilkatsoft.com/hello.pdf",bd)
If (success = False) Then
    ' This will happen if the response status code was 400 or greater,
    ' or if the request could not be sent, or if no response was received.
    '
    ' In other words, success will only be True if bd contains the desired content at the URL (not an error response).

    statusCode = http.LastStatus
    Debug.Print "Response status: "; statusCode

    If (statusCode = 0) Then
        ' There was an error in communications.
        Debug.Print http.LastErrorText
    Else
        ' We received a response status code indicating failure.
        ' Examine the response body.
        Debug.Print http.LastResponseBody
    End If

    Exit Sub
End If

' Save the contents of bd to a file.
' Note: This is only for the sake of this example.
' It's better to call the Download method to download directly to a file.
success = bd.WriteFile("qa_output/hello.pdf")
If (success = False) Then
    Debug.Print "Failed to write output file."
Else
    Debug.Print "Wrote hello.pdf"
End If
