Create HTML Email from a Web Page and Send HTML Mail

Download Chilkat .NET for 2.0 / 3.5 Framework

Download Chilkat .NET for 1.0 / 1.1 Framework

This VB.NET example shows how to automate the creation of an HTML email from a Web page and sends it. All images, style sheets, etc. are automatically downloaded and embedded in the email that is created.

    ' VB.NET Source Code to Send HTML Mail
    ' This example uses the MHT .NET Component to automatically
    ' create the HTML email, and the Email .NET Component to send it.
    Private Sub SendWebPage_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SendWebPage.Click

        Dim mht As New Chilkat.Mht()
        mht.UnlockComponent("MhtUnlockCode")

        ' Create a mailman object for sending mail.
        Dim mailman As New Chilkat.MailMan()
        mailman.UnlockComponent("MailUnlockCode")
        ' Set the SMTP server hostname
        mailman.SmtpHost = "smtp.earthlink.net"

        ' Download the HTML from the URL and create an
        ' HTML email object from it.
        Dim email As Chilkat.Email
        email = mht.GetEmail("http://www.google.com")
        email.AddTo("Matt", "matt@chilkatsoft.com")
        email.From = "Support <support@chilkatsoft.com>"

        ' Send the mail. (Returns false for failure, but we
        ' are not checking in this example.)
        mailman.SendEmail(email)
    End Sub
