Send Korean Email

VB.NET source code showing how to send a Korean email.

        Dim success As Boolean = False

        ' Create a mailman object for sending email.
        Dim mailman As New Chilkat.MailMan()

        ' Any string argument automatically begins the 30-day trial.
        mailman.UnlockComponent("30-day trial")

        ' Set the SMTP server.
        mailman.SmtpHost = "smtp.earthlink.net"

        ' Create an email object
        Dim email As New Chilkat.Email()

        ' Set the basic email stuff: body, subject, "from", "to"
        ' (This source code file was saved as Unicode (code page 1200).)
        email.Body = "나는 유리를 먹을 수 있어요."
        email.Subject = "나는 유리를 먹을 수 있어요."
        email.AddTo("있어요", "support@chilkatsoft.com")
        email.From = "있어요 <programmer@chilkatsoft.com>"

        ' Chilkat automatically recognizes that this email has Korean characters,
        ' and thus encodes everything as it is needed for the default Korean encoding
        ' of ks_c_5601-1987.
        ' It is possible to verify this by examining the full MIME text of the email:
        MessageBox.Show(email.GetMime())

        ' The charset can easily be changed to euc-kr
        email.Charset = "euc-kr"

        ' Now look at the MIME that Chilkat creates:
        MessageBox.Show(email.GetMime())

        ' The charset can easily be changed to iso-2022-kr
        email.Charset = "iso-2022-kr"

        ' Now look at the MIME that Chilkat creates:
        MessageBox.Show(email.GetMime())

        ' If you want the iso-2022-kr body sent as 7bit, set the content-transfer-encoding
        ' to "7bit" just before sending. Otherwise the Korean mail will be sent with
        ' a base64 transfer encoding.
        email.AddHeaderField("content-transfer-encoding", "7bit")
        MessageBox.Show(email.GetMime())

        ' Send the Korean email...
        success = mailman.SendEmail(email)
        If success Then
            MessageBox.Show("Sent email!")
        Else
            MessageBox.Show(mailman.LastErrorText)
        End If
