Determine if Service is Running

Determine if a Windows service is currently running.

require 'chilkat'

service = Chilkat::CkService.new()

service.put_ServiceName("MyService")

#  returns -1 for failure (inability to check)
#  returns 1 if running.
#  returns 0 if not running.

retval = service.IsRunning()
if (retval < 0)
    print "Failed to query service control manager" + "\n"
else
    if (retval == 1)
        print "Service is running" + "\n"
    else
        print "Service is not running" + "\n"
    end
