Adding Cookies to an HTTP GET Request

Example showing how to add one or more cookies to an HTTP GET request.

Download Chilkat Perl Module

use chilkat;

$http = new chilkat::CkHttp();

# Any string unlocks the component for the 1st 30-days.
$success = $http->UnlockComponent("Anything for 30-day trial");
if ($success != 1) {
    print $http->lastErrorText() . "\n";
    exit;
}

# The Cookie header field has this format:
#  Cookie: name1=value1 [; name2=value2] ...

# Build an HTTP GET request:
$request = new chilkat::CkHttpRequest();
$request->SetFromUrl("http://www.example-code.com/");
$request->UseGet();

#  Add two cookies:
$request->AddHeader("Cookie","user=\"mary\"; city=\"Chicago\"");

# Send the HTTP GET. The cookies are sent as part of the HTTP header.

$domain = "www.example-code.com";
$port = 80;
$ssl = 0;
$response = $http->SynchronousRequest($domain,$port,$ssl,$request);
if ($response eq null ) {
    print $http->lastErrorText() . "\n";
    exit;
}

# Display the HTML body of the response.
if ($response->get_StatusCode() == 200) {
    print $response->bodyStr() . "\r\n";
}
else {
    print "HTTP Response Status = " . $response->get_StatusCode() . "\r\n";
}
