Text and String Handling

Hash File: SHA-1, HAVAL, MD2, MD5, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512

Computing the hash for a file of any size.

LOCAL lcFilename
LOCAL lcHash

loCrypt = CreateObject('Chilkat.Crypt2')

* Any string argument automatically begins the 30-day trial.

lnSuccess = loCrypt.UnlockComponent("30-day trial")
IF (lnSuccess <> 1) THEN
    =MESSAGEBOX("Crypt component unlock failed")
    QUIT
ENDIF

* Any type of file may be hashed.
* There is no size limitation because the file is consumed
*  in streaming mode internally.

lcFilename = "something.zip"

loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "sha1"
loCrypt.EncodingMode = "hex"

* Other possible EncodingMode settings are:
*  "quoted-printable", "base64", and "url"

lcHash = loCrypt.HashFileENC(lcFilename)
? "SHA1:"
? lcHash

*  Hash using MD2
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "md2"
lcHash = loCrypt.HashFileENC(lcFilename)
? "MD2:"
? lcHash

*  Hash using MD5
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "md5"
lcHash = loCrypt.HashFileENC(lcFilename)
? "MD5:"
? lcHash

*  Hash using SHA-256
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "sha256"
lcHash = loCrypt.HashFileENC(lcFilename)

? lcHash

*  Hash using SHA-384
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "sha384"

*  Hash using SHA-512
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "sha512"
lcHash = loCrypt.HashFileENC(lcFilename)
? "SHA512:"
? lcHash

*  Hash using HAVAL
* There are two additional properties relevant to HAVAL:
*  HavalRounds, and KeyLength.
* HavalRounds can have values of 3, 4, or 5.
*  KeyLength can have values of 128, 160, 192, 224, or 256
loCrypt.HashAlgorithm = "haval"

loCrypt.KeyLength = 256
